BeeSmart middleware

Open and flexible

Beesmart is a highly scalable, open and customizable interactive TV middleware. Deployments can scale from a single server to a cluster of Beesmart servers enabling TV service to a small and a large size customer base. Beesmart can be used to provide ineteractive TV service to a number of operators on a single platform! It can be used as a true virtualization platform that provides TV service to a number of IPTV, Over-the-Top and cable  operators at the same time. All operators can operate their service independently and can offer their customers different and unique TV services using their own look & feel.

With Beesmart there are no limmitations as the TV service can be provided to any client terminal. Beesmart supports a wide range of client devices from a number of set-top-boxes, PCs and smart phones. With the use of Beesmart Open API the list of supported client devices can be easily extended.

Modern design

Beesmart architecture is based on a modern client server design, with thin client and thick server component. On the client side there is a standard HTML or SVG compatible browser needed, server side is a modern 3 tier server design, composed of web server, application server and the database.

Server side software is J2EE technology, composed of:

  • Web server
  • JBoss Java application server with Beesmart platform services
  • Oracle data base server with Beesmart DB Schema

Client side software technologies:

  • Operating System (Linux, Windows, … )
  • Drivers and hardware abstraction layer
  • Standard web browser: features: HTML 4.01, XHTML, CSS 2.1, EcmaScript, DOM 2, Unicode character set, XMLHTTPRequest (Ajax ready) or SVG client
  • EcmaScript/JavaScript client side API
